Can The Heart Be Programmed?

Can the heart be programmed like the mind? What does it mean to have an open heart? Why do we have to protect our heart if the goal is to open it?

After many investigations I kept getting the same answer, “No, the heart can’t be programmed.”

So why does it sometimes feel as if it does? Why does our heart get hurt? Why do some of us feel like we can’t trust our hearts?

First let me say that heart/soul/ spirit can be used interchangeably. And I often say heart because I view it as synonymous to my soul. They are the authentic parts of ourselves and sometimes they are one in the same thing.

Our hearts are always subtly guiding us. This guidance is extremely subtle. It is a soft nudging. If you are one of those people who feels like your heart is programmed, I will ask you to notice next time you get a subtle instinct from your heart center and you choose not to listen. It’s always when we choose not to listen that we think  back in hindsight and realize, “I should have listened to myself”, or, “I knew I shouldn’t have done that but I did it anyway.” You will see in these instances that yes, your heart was still guiding you in the right direction. So what happened?

What happened is that we have layers of filters and beliefs that tell us not to trust that small voice. It is also the programs that fill our mind that filter our perception and connection to the heart. It is because of these filters and negative beliefs that we may agree on some energetic level to hurt our hearts. So it may feel like our hearts are programmed and that we are not able to trust our own souls voice, but this is this conflict that keeps us in a constant state of confusion.

When there is still a disconnection to our hearts we will identify with the negative beliefs, or the voice of the mind programs over the voice of our own soul. This is why it will be so difficult to decide which voice to listen to. We will be in a constant state of conflict because we will be pulled in two directions. We might hear the soft words of our heart saying, “hey that’s not a good decision, be true to yourself.”

And then we may hear the voice of the programs telling us all the reasons why we should.

So then we reject our own heart/ soul/ authenticity and later down the road we realize our heart WAS steering us in the right direction. We just didn’t listen.

Foreign Energies and Confusing Thoughts

Another reason for confusing or conflicting thoughts is foreign energies. Something else that happens when we interact with people is that their consciousness can attach to ours. This means we will start to pick up on their emotions, their thoughts, their anxieties and mistake it as our own. A sign that an emotion is not yours is when it feels totally out of control and no matter what you do you cannot change your mood. The emotions might be so intense and so agonizing that you are only able to think of doom and gloom scenarios. Another sign is when there is no logical reason to be feelings that emotion. Confusion disorientation are also signs that there is an inorganic energy that is clouding your head.

These intruding energies can even be from friends or family members that we love and care about.

This can also happen through prayer. Yes prayer! Because believe it or not, if someone is praying for you, but behind their reason for prayer is fear and worry–you will be more affected by their fear and worry than by their wish for you to be protected. You may start to feel their fear, worries and anxieties. This is because when we care about someones opinions-like in the case of loved ones–we are much more vulnerable to their energies than even to some stranger who is purposely trying to harm us!

Psychic attacks can also happen when people consciously project negative thoughts at us. This can affect mental health and even our physical health.

Open Heart= Open door

An open heart is a healthy heart. I see that when people’s heart energy centers are closed and blocked off they will get sick. There is no way to be a healthy person with a blocked and closed heart. This means energy is not running through that area of your body. I see that an open heart creates vitality and energy. We keep our house “healthy” by cleaning and maintaining it. We do chores. We open the windows for fresh air. In order to maintain heart health we also need the wisdom of knowing when and how to close our hearts.

Another thing that can happen that disconnects us from the voice of our heart is manipulation. When we allow people access to our hearts that don’t deserve access, is when our hearts can be manipulated. When we allow people access to our hearts because of naivety/ or whatever reason, it’s like opening the door for robbers to come into our house.

When we leave our hearts open all the time to people who have negative underlying intentions with us or even negative intentions they are unconscious of, they are able to “tap into our heart centers” like tapping into a phone line and hearing the conversation. There are many sneaky people who will then invade our heart space (our homes) and take over. We may start to synch up with their fears and their emotions. They will start to feel better by stealing our heart energy and our health will start to decline as a result. It’s like someone who enters your house, decides to live on your couch and eat all your food, but doesn’t help pay the bills, does not help with chores, and makes the house messy. Kicking this person out of your house is possible but it might be hard and your house will be a disaster after he leaves. Your house will need to be deep cleaned and the house will need to be filled with new loving energy. This can take a lot of time. And clearing out that kind of energy and trauma from your house can take a lot of time. This is the same thing that happens to our hearts.

To understand the heart, I had to take what I understood about the mind and apply that to the heart. A healthy mind is able to entertain information and ideas without accepting them as true. A  healthy mind is able to hold two conflicting ideas simultaneously without grasping hold too tightly of either one. This keeps them balanced in the middle of duality. For instance, “I am stiff”, and also “I am flexible”. Both are opposite and both are true. We do not have to pick one or the other.

The heart is related to our emotions. So when it comes to the heart, we can apply these same concepts with our emotions. We can feel emotions with out accepting them as “who we are”. We can feel emotions without identifying with them. (emotions will always eventually  pass like the wind) We can also feel two conflicting emotions such as sadness and happiness. This means we will also not get emotionally attached to ideas, philosophies, beliefs, thoughts, and even people. We can interact with people without having made any decisions about them. We can remain neutral in our interactions with them as long as we need. We do not need to open the doors of our house to them  or invite them in as guests, nor do we have to decide that they are an enemy.

Not everyone deserves access to our hearts. Not even friends or family members. This is a sacred center that should remain sacred.

The heart is like a house and  The doors should both open and close.

So how do we keep our hearts “open” and also “protected?” We keep our hearts open for ourselves and allow energy to flow through and nourish us. We are allowed to open it to other people and also close it off as well.  No one deserves access to our heart center but me and it is okay for my heart center to remain open for me and me only. Not everyone deserves a spot in our sacred space.
